Introduced: 1927
Flower description: Lightly scented trusses of tubular flowers, blush pink with deeper markings. Flowers February/March.
Height & habit: 60-100cm/24-36" approx. in 10 years, cilipinense makes a rounded bush with glossy green leaves.
Uses: Ideal for bringing spring colour and year round interest to patio containers, troughs and rock gardens. A good choice for the front of a border or planting at the base of larger growing Hardy Hybrid Rhododendrons.

Introduced: 1979
Flower description: Funnel shaped blush pink flowers fading to white in April/May.
Height & habit: 60-100cm/24-36" approx. in 10 years.  Ginny Gee makes a dwarf compact shrub of spreading habit with dark green evergreen foliage.
Uses: Ideal for bringing spring colour and year round interest to patio containers, troughs and rock gardens. A good choice for the front of a border or planting at the base of larger growing Hardy Hybrid Rhododendrons.

Snipe Snipe

Parentage: pemakoense x davidsonianum
Introduced: 1975
Flower description: Orchid-pink flowers fade to white flushed pale violet with magenta spotting. Flowers March/April.
Height & habit: 60-100cm/24-36" approx. in 10 years.  Snipe has an upright but compact habit with pale green leaves.
Uses: Ideal for bringing spring colour and year round interest to patio containers, troughs and rock gardens. A good choice for the front of a border or planting at the base of larger growing Hardy Hybrid Rhododendrons.
