Hybrid Group: Kaempferi.
Flower description: Reddish orange flowers in April/May, very free flowering.
Height & habit: 50-80cm / 1.5-2.5ft approx. in 10 years. Orange King is a larger growing variety with attractive autumn colours and evergreen foliage.
Uses: Perfect for containers. A mass of flowers in spring provides a colourful display and the evergreen foliage provides interest throughout the year. Orange King is ideal for bringing spring colour to a mixed border.

Rex Rex

Flower description: A Japanese Large Flowered hybrid with reddish orange flowers. Flowering in March is so prolific that the foliage is almost obscured.
Height & habit: 50-80cm / 1.5-2.5ft in approx. 10 years. An evergreen, Rex has a compact habit and dark green foliage.
Uses: Perfect for containers. A mass of flower in spring, Rex provides colourful impact and the foliage acts as a useful foil for the remainder of the year. Because of its compact habit Rex is a good choice for the front of a mixed border.
