Parentage:  catawbiense x ponticum.
Introduced:  In Ghent pre 1846
Flower description:  Trusses of large semi-double pale blue-mauve flowers with a brown flare. Flowers late May.
Height & habit: 2m+/6ft+ approx. in 10 years.  An evergreen, Fastuosum Flore Pleno makes a large dome shaped bush with dark matt green leaves.
Uses: The bold flowers bring a splash of colour to the garden in spring and the evergreen foliage makes a useful screen and backdrop to other plants for the rest of the year.

Lavender Queen Lavender Queen

Parentage:  Catawbiense seedling x 'Boule de Neige'.
Introduced: pre 1970
Flower description: Light bluish lavender flowers with a delicate frill. Flowers May.
Height & habit: 1.2-2m/4-6ft approx. in 10 years.  An evergreen, Lavender Queen has a dense bushy habit and shiny dark green leaves.
Uses:  The bold flowers bring a splash of colour to the garden in spring and the evergreen foliage makes a useful screen and backdrop to other plants for the rest of the year.
