Parentage: leucaspis x orthocladum var. microleucum
Introduced: 1965
Flower description: Masses of pure white saucer shaped flowers about 3cm in diameter, usually in clusters of three. Flowers March/April.
Height & habit: 40/60cm/18-24" approx. in 10 years.  Ptarmigan has a low spreading and compact habit with dark scaly foliage.
Uses: Ideal for bringing spring colour and year round interest to patio containers, troughs and rock gardens. A good choice for the front of a border or planting at the base of larger growing Hardy Hybrid Rhododendrons.

Snow Lady Snow Lady

Parentage: ciliatum x leucaspis
Introduced: 1955
Flower description: Lovely white flowers borne in loose trusses in February/March.
Height & habit: 60-100cm/24-36" approx. in 10 years.  Snow Lady makes a compact shrub of spreading habit with bristly-hairy leaves.
Uses: Ideal for bringing spring colour and year round interest to patio containers, troughs and rock gardens. A good choice for the front of a border or planting at the base of larger growing Hardy Hybrid Rhododendrons.
