Introduced: 1989 by Hachmann
Flower description: Funnel shaped greenish yellow flowers with darker red spots. Flowers April/May.
Height & habit: 100 x 150 cm in approx. 10 years. 
Uses: The bold flowers bring a splash of colour to the garden in spring and the evergreen foliage makes a useful screen and backdrop to other plants for the rest of the year.

 

Madame Masson Madame Masson

Parentage:  catawbiense x ponticum.
Introduced: 1849
Flower description: White flowers with a golden yellow blotch. Flowers May.
Height & habit: 1.2-2m/4-6ft in approx. 10 years.  An evergreen, Madame Masson makes a dense well shaped plant with glossy green leaves.
Uses: The bold flowers bring a splash of colour to the garden in spring and the evergreen foliage makes a useful screen and backdrop to other plants for the rest of the year.
