A Knap Hill and Exbury hybrid originally bred by Anthony Waterer at his Knap Hill Nursery and developed by Lionel De Rothschild at Exbury. Introduced: 1951 Flower description: Deep orange-red flowers with yellow stamens. Flowers May/June. Height & habit: 1.2-1.5m/4-5 ft approx. in 10 years. Fireball has copper-red young foliage followed by good autumn colour. Uses: The bold flowers bring a splash of colour to the garden in spring and in autumn the foliage takes on rich orange/yellow hues adding further interest. |
