Silver Sixpence
Parentage: Fabia Waterer x (discolour hybrid x eriogynum) x (discolour hybrid x griersonianum) x wardii x yakushimanum. Introduced: 1975 by Waterers Flower description: Creamy-white flowers with yellow spotting in the throat. Flowers late April/May, one of the earliest yakushimanum hybrids to flower. Height & habit: 80-100cm / 2.5 - 3.3ft approx. in 10 years. Silver Sixpence has a compact spreading habit. Uses: Perfect for containers, the bold flowers provide a colourful display in spring and the evergreen foliage provides interest throughout the year. A good choice for the front of a mixed border or planting at the base of larger growing Hardy Hybrid Rhododendrons. |
