Parentage: 'Bambi' x Grosclaude Group x griersonianum.
Introduced:  1972 by Waterers
Flower Description:   Salmon-pink in bud, opening pale yellow and fading to creamy white. Flowers May.
Height & habit:  60-80cm / 2- 2.5ft approx. in 10 year. Golden Torch makes a very compact shrub with light green leaves.
Uses: Perfect for containers, the bold flowers provide a colourful display in spring and the evergreen foliage provides interest throughout the year. A good choice for the front of a mixed border or planting at the base of larger growing Hardy Hybrid Rhododendrons.

Parentage: yakushimanum x unnamed hybrid
Introduced: 1962 by Waterers 
Flower Description: Yellow flowers fade to cream tinged pink at the edges. Flowers May/June.
Height & habit: 80 – 100cm / 2.5 - 3.3ft approx. in 10 years. An evergreen, Grumpy has a compact spreading habit and rich green foliage with attractive indumentum on the reverse.
Uses: Perfect for containers. The bold flowers provide colourful impact in spring and the foliage acts as a useful foil for the remainder of the year. Because of its compact habit Grumpy is a good choice for the front of a mixed border or alternatively planting at the base of larger growing Hardy Hybrid Rhododendrons.
