As the name implies this group of Azaleas lose their leaves in autumn. The foliage of some varieties takes on stunning shades of red and orange before finally dropping.
Bold flower heads are produced as the new foliage starts to emerge and many are fragrant. Deciduous Azaleas tend to have an upright habit, ideal for the back of a border and some of the more compact varieties are suitable for growing in large patio pots. They will grow successfully in sun or partial shade.
